Privacy Policy
1. About Us:
1.1 Manheim Auctions Limited ("We", "Us", "Our") is a company registered in the UK (number 00448761) whose registered office is at Central House, Leeds Road, Rothwell, Leeds, LS26 OJE and is part of the Manheim group of companies. Our parent company is Manheim Auctions Inc (based in Atlanta, USA) which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cox Enterprises Inc. 1.2 We respect your privacy and we want you to understand the ways in which we do and do not use the data that you provide us with.

2. Collection and Use of Data
2.1 The data we collect comes under two general categories (1) data supplied by you via the site and (2) tracking data.
2.2 To access the Manheim online service you will need to register and provide certain data to us. You signify your consent to us collecting and using this data by your use of this web site. The data you provide will be used to provide information to you on auctions and sales and for the purposes of administration, satisfying your requests, business development, trend analysis and marketing. We will also use it to create offers specifically designed to meet your needs. [In practice we do not actually make a check with a credit reference agency at the time of registration. Credit checks are only carried out where a user subsequently decides to apply for a trade card account, the application forms for which are posted out after registration is complete.]
2.3 Please note that your data will be stored and processed on our parent company servers, which are located in the United States. We take the security of your data seriously and have appropriate levels of security for the transfer and storage of the data on our parent company's server. If you object to your data being used in this manner please do not register to use the Manheim Online service. By registering your details with us for the Manheim Online service you consent to this transfer.
2.4 We automatically track certain data based upon your behaviour on our site using cookies and other devices. We use this information to do internal research on our users' demographics, interests, and behaviour to better understand our users. This data may include the URL that you just came from (whether this URL is on our site or not), which URL you next go to (Whether this URL is on our site or not), what browser you are using, and your IP address. We may disclose this data to motor manufacturers in order that they can monitor who has been viewing their products.
2.5 We use data collection devices such as "cookies" on certain pages of our site "Cookies" are small text files placed on your hard drive that assist us in providing customised services. You may decline our cookies if your browser permits, although in this case you may not be able to use certain features on our site and you may be required to re-enter your password more frequently. 2.6 If you choose to bid, buy or sell on our site, we collect data about your bidding, buying and selling behaviour. 2.7 If you send us personal correspondence, such as emails or letters, or if other users or third parties send us correspondence about your activities, we may collect such information in a file specific to you.
3. Disclosure of Data

We can (and you authorise us to) disclose any information about you to such law enforcement or other government officials as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate, in connection with an investigation of fraud or other activity that is illegal or may expose you or us to legal liability. Further, we can (and you authorise us to) disclose your User name, name and address, phone number, email and company name where we in our sole discretion believe it necessary or appropriate in connection with an investigation of fraud or other unlawful activity.
3.3 We use industry standard practices to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal identifiable information, including "firewalls" and Secure Socket Layers. However, no security system is impenetrable and we cannot guarantee the security of our database, nor can we guarantee that data you supply to us will not be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the Internet.
4. Your Password
4.1 You are responsible for all actions taken with your User name and password, including fees. You must not disclose your password to any third parties. You are responsible for all actions taken with your User name and password. If you lose control of your password, you may lose substantial control over your personally identifiable information and may be subject to legally binding actions taken on your behalf. Therefore, if your password has been compromised for any reason, you should immediately change your password. Following registration you can review and change the information you submitted during registration.
5. Changes to this Policy
5.1 If we need to change our privacy policy at some point in the future to reflect our data collection and disclosure practices we'll post the changes at least 30 days before they take effect. Our use of data gathered while the current policy is in effect will always be consistent with the current policy, even if we change that policy later.

Why we hold the information
We will store and
process your information held on the Manheim Group computer databases
or in any other way. By your “information” we
mean personal and transactional information we (a) obtain from
you or from third parties (such as credit reference agencies
or other organisations if you have applied for an account), or
(b) from the transactions you make through us.
We will not disclose any such information outside of the Manheim
Group except:
As required by law or regulation. We co-operate with law
enforcement inquiries, as well as other third parties to enforce
laws, such as fraud, money laundering and other crimes. We
can (and you authorise us to) disclose any information about
you to law enforcement or other government officials as we,
in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate, in
connection with an investigation or fraud or other activity
that is illegal or may expose us or you to legal liability.
Further, we can (and you authorise us to) disclose your details
where in our sole discretion we believe it necessary or appropriate
in connection with an investigation of fraud , insurance investigations
or an unlawful activity, to a party whom we consider has a
legitimate interest in any such investigation.
To verify your identity we may pass your information to,
and obtain information from, organisations involved in the
prevention and detection of fraud, money laundering and other
crimes.
If you apply to open an account with us we will make searches
about you at credit reference agencies, for use in the assessment
of financial risk.
If we transfer your information to a service provider or agent
in another country, we will do our best to make sure that the
service provider or agent agrees to apply the same levels of
protection as we are required to apply to information held in
the UK and to use the information for providing the service to
us. However, some of these organisations’ databases may
be maintained outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”)
and not regulated by the same data protection principles as apply
in the EEA.
Information which you supply to us in the form of
your name and address (but not any other information) will be
verified as described above, and, in continuing to trade with
us, we regard you as giving your consent to this. If you
do not wish for this information to be used in this way, please
contact us as mentioned below and tell us, though this may affect
our ability to continue to trade with you.
What we do with it
We will use the information provided by you for the following
purposes; administration of records, marketing and public relations
for us and third parties (selected at our discretion) and trading.

or other information relating to the activities of Manheim.
Manheim Group and third parties (selected at our discretion)
will use your information to manage your account(s), provide
our services, and to develop and improve our services to you,
for example by informing you about auctions and services (including
those of others) which may be of interest to you. We, or such
third parties, may contact you by mail, telephone, sms text messaging,
email or fax (using the contact details provided, as updated
from time to time). You may opt out of receiving marketing messages,
amend your contact details or change your preferred method of
