Market Analysis

"A factual insight into recent market activity, as well as looking at market trends over a rolling two-year period"

Market Analysis, which is one of the four parts of the Manheim Intelligence service, is a wholesale market report that identifies trends from a large basket of vehicles offered and sold by Manheim Auctions in the UK. It offers a factual insight into very recent market activity for both cars and vans.

Published monthly, the data for the car report looks at the market trends over a rolling thirteen month period, shown in a number of ways, including general demand, sales values and stocking periods by vendor source and by vehicle segment. Fuel and transmission variants are also analysed, as are body style and the impact of colour on sales values.

The bi-annual van report analyses the age, mileage, stocking periods and a comparison of the selling price to the original new price across all key van segments.

Additional special features of the reports include:

  • Fleet depreciation analysis
  • Sales values on vehicles aged 4 to 10 years old
  • Three and five door models from the supermini, small hatchback and medium family segments
  • An analysis of the profile and sale values in the Minibus segment
  • The decreasing impact of colour on (van) residual values

The van Market Analysis report was recently launched to critical acclaim:

"Manheim’s van Market Analysis is a very useful publication, containing valuable information on van market activity, presented in a clear and concise manner". Mark Cowling CAP Research - Jan 2006.
