Manheim Auctions has a national network of auction centres that cover the length
and breadth of Britain and offers more than 50 auctions every week! There are
19 car auction centres, including Europe’s largest car auction centre
at Colchester, 7 commercial vehicle auction centres, offering light commercial
vehicles (vans), heavy goods vehicles (trucks) and plant (eg construction & farming
machinery) and one motorbike auction centre, the largest in the UK, at Mansfield.
2 types of auctions are held at Manheim Auction Centres:
- “Open” auctions: these are
auctions that are open to all-comers, trade or private buyers
and make up the vast majority of the auctions that are held
at Manheim Auction Centres
- “Closed” auctions: these
are auctions that are for a select number of trade buyers
or dealers only and are not open to all-comers. Invitations
to these auctions are usually via post, email or telephone. “Closed” auctions
are clearly indicated on the Auctions
Calendar.
Each auction centre offers a broad range
of innovative services including logistics, inspection, reconditioning
and presale preparation as well as a comprehensive auctions
programme on behalf of leading manufacturers, finance companies,
fleets and dealer groups. More than 500,000 vehicles are
offered though the Manheim Auctions network in the UK every
year.
