Latest update from auctioneer Andy
I don’t know about you but I can’t believe we are half through the year, doesn’t time fly when you are having fun?
I think we’re seeing our second wind, retail sale up, demand on the auction hall floor is up, prices are up, buyer attendance is up and my blood pressure is up too!
Seriously though, what more could an auctioneer asks for, stock levels are easing and they are now on a level pegging with demand and in any industry this is the ideal balance. Hopefully the current trend will continue into August. We will then expect to see the usual season blip as we prepare to open the September flood gates. I expect to see some very substantial number coming back which will no doubt have an effect on prices.
From an auction point of view, prices remain strong on quality stock but the demands for scrap has virtually gone and bids coming in are very low.
Elsewhere, the majority of the auctioneer’s reports are positive. It was great to see Listers having a great launch sale at Mansfield, so well done to the team. Just goes to show what can happen when we work together!
Finally from an auctioneers perspective, I would like to reiterate that we are your eyes and ears out there on the frontline so whatever help we can give don’t hesitate to ask.
Andy
