Commercial vehicle update from James Davis - 6th October 2015
This Friday, 9th October 2015, we're taking our award winning "Pop Up" Mobile Auction Unit to Hitachi Capital Commercial Vehicles' multi-million pound, state of the art, UK Headquarters.
HCCV's purpose built facility in Trowbridge opened last year and also houses a de-fleet centre including mechanical workshops and handover centre. On the sale day we'll jointly welcome our valued physical and online buyers to the auction event, the first of its type in the UK.
Simulcast buyers are beamed into the auction action via 4G Viprinet technology. The 50 selected premium channel vans will be driven past the Mobile Auction Unit rostrum just as in a traditional physical auction. Our Head of LCV, Matthew Davock, will be making history along with his colleagues and his friends at Hitachi Capital Commercial Vehicles.
The Mobile Auction Unit is just 1 of 6 new online sales channels launched by Manheim in the last 12 months; it truly empowers our buyers to source stock using a method convenient to them.
It's a really proud moment for me and underlines the speed at which our industry, and world, is moving.
It proves why Manheim are the UK's Number One CV Auction Company.
In the meantime I'll let you into a little secret. For those of a similar vintage to me they'll appreciate the Mobile Auction Unit's internal project name. In a world of frankly boring naming conventions PROJECT MARTINI will live up to its name....anytime, anyplace, anywhere. Now I wonder who came up with that name......#ShareTheLove
