Weekly trucks update with Terry Stout - 3rd July 2015
Well what a fantastic week in Manheim’s HGV world. Gloucester on Monday was another industry leading HGV sale with several national corporate vendors with multiple vehicles all selling 100%. Although, with the weather being a scorcher, pockets seem to be shorter or arms longer (as in well as tanned)! Buyers were very active and secured a large number of trucks at this sale.
Colchester HGV sale was very buoyant with lots of buyers in hall and online, this sale sold 80% under the hammer, with a mixed bag of vendors.
This sale could have been renamed ‘ 7.5 ton Box Fest’ due to the dominance of this entry.
The hammer was constantly going down with the sales values of several trucks surprising a lot of customers.
At the end of the sale my phone was hot to talk about how much certain trucks sold for. In particular, a 2008 DAF CF75 Beavertail direct a national company but with a dissembled engine that sold for 404% of its reserve.
Another direct vendor, national fleet, had a great selection of DAF and MAN 7.5 ton box vans which sold out for strong money. Speaking to the national vendors, they tell us that they are really happy with the outcome of the sales values and have plenty more similar vehicles to arrive for forthcoming HGV sales.
I’m looking forward to next week’s Northern HGV sales at Shotts and Leeds! Incidentally, if you’re at the Malvern Showground on Sunday you’ll find me at Truckfest “Sharing The Love” for commercials!
