Weekly trucks update with Terry Stout - 5th June 2015
Southbound this week with HGV sales at Gloucester and Colchester.
Gloucester had a good volume of direct lots giving John Lewis a clear sale sweep converting 100% of their entry. They had a great mix of truck and trailer stock with the trailers selling and making ideal static storage units.
A sale entry of 16 lots from BT were very well received with a mixed blend of DAF 45 and 55 workshop boxes and pole erection units. Gloucester’s showstopper was a 2009 Isuzu NKR 75.190 20 foot low mileage beavertail that made 161% of reserve.
Other direct entries included three King tri-axle flats with PSK locks, all selling at good values. A 2000 semi-low loader trailer sold for an eye watering 393% of reserve!
Gloucester has a lot of volume still to come. Given its location covering the whole of the South West it is a real jewel in our HGV crown.
Then onto Colchester. This centre has made a very positive step forward in relocating its fortnightly HGV sale day to Wednesdays, alongside their already weekly LCV sale. By creating a 3 lane sale a mixed blend of buyers lean in and out to complement each sale.
With this variety of stock and number of overall buyers a loyal Royal Mail van buyer purchased a 2003 Iveco Daily 65C15 box from my rostrum for good money. Royal Mail had an entry of 6 lots and attracted bids on them all. Overall a good level of interest online for a mixed blend of stock.
Next week will be back up North at Shotts and Leeds, I’ll let you know how I get on next week!
Thanks Terry
