Weekly vans update with Matthew Davock - 29th May 2015

This week we have seen a very typical bank holiday week of sales with footfall and online buyer numbers down on prior week’s sales. Emphasis has been all about engaging the buyers and our industry leading auctioneers have needed to use all their tools, expertise and experience to get bids, work the hall and online buyers like never before to grind results out for all our vendors this week.

Interestingly the 40-60,000 miles and clean stock have still been performing very well this week and many of these units have been sold to online buyers showing this stock is still in demand. Buyers that are on holiday are still keen to source this stock even though it means them bidding on their sun loungers… using our multi-award winning Simulcast product.

Historically this week has always proven to be a challenge but buyers have reported steady retail activity and many I have seen and spoken to have commented that the week’s activity has improved on recent years at this same point.

During the week we have continued to see 2 tier de-fleet of stock enter our auction halls. Catalogues have been heavily varied with 2005-2007 year vans mixed with large volumes of ex daily rental 2011-2013 plated stock.

Highlights of the week

2011 61 plate T32 VW Transporter Sportline 180ps Kombi in black, FULLY loaded with Leather, climate and Sat Nav 44,000 miles - Capping at £13,600 selling for…. £19,800.

13/13 plate Mercedes Vito 113 Traveliner automatic 7 seats in Grey, Sold as a margin vehicles (no VAT) - Capping at £15,300 sold for £22,300.

15 seat Transit minibuses have also remained positive this week, 63 plate examples making £13,500-£14,000 with low mileage on them.

Finally, damage stock as you would expect this week has been a real struggle with buyers showing very little appetite for this stock. Hopefully with many buyers using this week to re-charge their batteries and matched up with a good level of retail activity, it should make the perfect combination for a positive week of CV sales next week.

Have a great weekend all, and thank you again for your much valued business and continued support. Next week, with a full week of sales, is gearing up to be yet another record breaker. Tune in every Friday to see how we’ve performed. Until then, keep ‘Sharing the CV Love’.

Thanks Matthew
