Transport provider nets backload revenue thanks to Movex
Movex, the online vehicle logistics platform, has proven the efficiency of its backload facility for its customers, after one transport company used an otherwise empty return trip to collect a Honda Civic from Chippenham, Wiltshire and deliver it to a dealer in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire.
While a 245-mile driven vehicle movement would typically cost in excess of £120, the transport company, TK Vehicle Movements, was able to provide a much lower quote as their plate driver was making a similar return journey from a previous job.As well as helping plate drivers, to reduce the number of transporters moving around the country empty, which is inefficient as well as environmentally costly, the Movex platform’s backload functionality allows transport providers to fill empty slots on transporters. This not only improves the efficiency of the provider’s operations, but also allows them to deliver more competitive pricing and faster turnaround times to customers.
