Future of remarketing explored in new Manheim white paper series

‘The wholesale model, used by all remarketers, is accelerating towards a time where it will no longer be fit for purpose’ is one of a number of bold assertions made in a new white paper published by Manheim, the UK’s leading provider of remarketing products and services.

The company has launched its new ‘Experience Better’ white paper series, which give an insight into the company’s views around the future of the automotive industry.

Available for download from the Manheim website, ‘A vision for the future of remarketing’ is the first in a series of papers that aim to shine a light on the forces that are shaping the remarketing sector and examine what they mean for the businesses within it.

Topics covered in the paper include the changing expectations of physical auctions, the transition from physical to digital, the ever-increasing need for transparency and accuracy of vehicle description, and vehicle movements.

Peter Bell, Managing Director, Manheim, said: “The next five years will see an unprecedented period of change in the way vehicles are remarketed and as a business sat at the very heart of this, we are fascinated and energised by the opportunities ahead.

“We want to share this enthusiasm with the wider industry and over the coming weeks and months, will publish a series of white papers to give our customers, partners and peers an insight to our way of thinking.

“We believe that the future of the automotive industry will be defined by a digital revolution. Times have already changed, but the pace of change is now accelerating to a point where rapid evolution is a necessity, not simply an ambition.

“It’s a complex and diverse challenge that affects us all, from vendors all the way through the remarketing chain to consumers, so through this ‘Experience Better’ series, we hope to not only share our thoughts, but also stimulate debate and discussion.”
