Manheim Shotts re-opens for physical auctions
Manheim’s Shotts auction centre in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, will welcome buyers back to a physical environment as it begins to reinstate physical auctions in response to growing customer demand and relaxed restrictions in the region.
On Thursday 3 March from 12pm, Manheim Shotts will host its first in-person auction since March 2020, with stock from a number of top-tier vendors passing through the lanes, including MotoNovo Finance, Parks Motor Group, Peter Vardy and many more. From there on, every Thursday auction sale will be open to buyers both physically and online through the Simulcast platform.
In late 2021, Manheim took the decision to re-open additional auction centres in Bristol, Manchester and Washington. This followed the slightly earlier reopening of the Colchester, Leeds, and Birmingham sites for physical auctions.
Liam Quegan, managing director of Manheim Auction Services, commented: “With the easing of restrictions in Scotland, we’ve spoken with our sellers and buyers and responded to their request for the reintroduction of a physical sale programme at Shotts. While our online only programme has been very successful and will continue to be the dominant way in which vehicles will be sold, there is appetite from both sides for the opportunity to come together in person for some sales. I’m happy that we’re able to meet this demand in Shotts and the team are looking forward to once again seeing some familiar faces on Thursday.”
No pre-registration is required to attend physical auctions, but buyers are asked to respect Covid-secure measures whilst they remain in place for the protection of everyone involved.
