What an industry leading week in the HGV world, with visits around 4 HGV centres offering over 270 trucks and trailers

Once again here nice selection of mixed stock and vendors, one in particular was a direct entry, 2011 DAF LF55 180 13 ton box, sold for £14,000. Two lovely 2007 Volvo FH12 480 Globetrotter 6x2 tractor units sold under the hammer at over £6,000. One local council entered a 2009 DAF LF45 160 Tipper this also sold under the hammer at well above reserve and another Scottish Council sold both their 2006 DAF LF 55.220 and their 2006 Iveco Eurocargo tippers.

Well here again, we are seeing a good number of trucks entered by well-known vendors. One national rental fleet vendor offered a fantastic selection of 31 lots mixed from tractor units to rigids. Examples sold were 2011 DAF XF105 460 6x2 tractor units. selling between £17,000 and £18,000. A selection of 2011 DAF LF45.160 boxes, curtains and tippers held their values and made strong money.  A 2012 DAF LF45.160 curtainside had very low mileage of 30,000kms, just as a lot of the other 7.5 ton trucks from this vendor. I’d like to take this opportunity to remind you that this vendor will not be releasing any more trucks after their last sale on the 29th October. At that sale there will be a mixed blend of over 40 trucks, so you need to fill your boots while you can!

Gloucester have seen a lot of hammer action with the 7.5 ton box fest. A national parcel fleet entered 19 mixed year 2006 to 2008 DAF LF45.150 GRP boxes. These sold for prices up to £4,500. I know of another batch of these to come so get them while you can.  A Southern council entered 3 x 2007 DAF LF45.140 cage tippers that all sold for well over reserve. An Ex MOD Mobile Dental Theatre (Tandem Axle Torton Bradley) with a slide out panel sold for £4,000. Overall a very good sale here selling 79% of all lots.

Colchester had a good start to the sale with a 2015 direct Davlan Tandem axle drawbar trailer which sold for £7,500.  The two DAF 45.150 dry freight boxes, sisters of the ones sold at Gloucester, made decent money. A direct utility vendor entered two jetting vans; a 2010 Ford Transit 350 selling for mid sixes and a 2014 Ford Transit selling just short of £12,000. Another direct national vendor sold a 2005 Mercedes Axor 1853 4x2 tractor unit at £5,600 to a well-known exporter. Is this export market awakening?

To summarise, vendors are seeing the tractor units still being a challenge to meet the grades but they are making brave decisions to sell. Keep looking at the website catalogues for the next fortnights HGV sales north, east, south and west - we’ve the best selection of direct entry trucks and trailers in the UK

Take care
